Custom Big Boatプロジェクトのインテリア・コンポーネントの調査で、デザインセンターに行った。前から行きたいと思っていたが、やっといけました。

Seattleの事務所にいた頃は、足しげく通っていました。Ft. Lauderdaleのデザインセンターも、シアトルのと似ています。日本のものとは、スケールだけではなく、各ショップのクォリティが違います。

基本的に「天・壁・床材」、プラス空間を彩る『アート』を調査。ファブリック、レザー、ファニチャー、バスフィクスチャー、ギャレーイクイップメントやハードウェアー。

話しながら見て回るうちに、アイデアが湧いてきます。このブレストしている時の、オフプレッシャーの会話が重要だと思う。

サンプルを沢山もらったので、整理してまとめます。

We went to the design center in FL under the custom big boat project. I had been wanted to visit this design center since I’m coming FL.

When I was in Seattle to work for custom Mega Yacht interior design firm, I often visited Seattle design center. FL’ is almost same function as Seattle’s.

I need to look for ceiling, wall and floor material plus important item, Art. It’s almost everything in the space. I saw fabric, leather, furniture, bath fixture, galley equipment and hardware.

We had been walking around each floor and talking about what’s what. I think this kind of conversation is very, very important because idea is free under no pressure. I called it brain storming.

I got a lot of samples, so I have to get organize on each theme.

ランチはゴルフ場のレストランで、大好物の「Philly’s Cheese Steak」。

ディナーは、メジャーリーガーの松井稼頭央さんもいらした事もある「Korean BBQ」です。

異国にいる時は、食事が楽しみですね。

I had my favorite Philly’s Cheese Steak at lunch and Korean BBQ at dinner. Japanese baseball player, Kazuo Matui, visited this Korean restaurant. While I’m in different country, food is one of the fun thing to entertain myself.

朝からアメリカン・スポーツフィッシャーマンの代表格『Bertram』の調査をFerretti Groupのショールームで行った。この雰囲気が良いですね。

会議室のテーブルでボートの話しをするのではなく、このようなメーカーの世界観が垣間見れる環境で話しを進める。環境作りは大事ですね。いつか日本でも・・

We went to Ferretti Group show room in Ft. Lauderdale in the morning. We took a look at the 40 footer Bertram.

I really like this show room atmosphere. The space represents several Italian boat manufacture’s world. It’s better talk with owner at this kind of space instead of sitting in the conference room. I will make such kind of circumstance in Tokyo in the future.

車を走らせマイアミへ。これまたBertramのSea Trialです。幅が狭い運河を70 footerの大きなボートを走らせ、外洋へ。

ヤードへ帰港し、上架してラバーヘッドハンマーを使いボトムのチェック。

その後、主機、補機のデータ取りや、インテリアサーベイ。

Bertram Dayの一日でした。

After visit the show room, we head to Miami to go Bertram factory. We did the sea trail on 70 footer. The big 70 footer went narrow canal to go sea.

We back to marina and hauled up to check the bottom with rubber hammer.

I needed to get the date from engines, generators and to check interior.

It was Bertram day.

フォートローダーデールのホテルにチェックインし、夕食へ。タイを頂きました。アメリカのタイ料理は美味しいですね。

夕食後、開催前のボートショー会場へ。

Pier 66には、巨大なプレジャーボートが鎮座していました。

アメリカンシップビルダー『Derecktor』の281ft (85.6m)の「Cakewalk」です。コネクションがある様なので、このボートを見られるかもしれない。すみからすみまで見てきます。

After we had checked in Ft. Lauderdale hotel, we had a Thai cuisine dinner last night. It’s always good American Thai food.

We went to the boat show place to check what’s going on before the show.

There is a huge ship at Pier 66. She is American shipbuilder, Derector’s 281 footer (85.6m) “Cakewalk”. We have connection with Cakewalk people, so we may have a chance to go on board. If I go on, I’ll check throughout the boat in detail.

ワシントンDC乗り換えで、マイアミ空港に入りました。マイアミ空港から、ボートショーがあるフォートローダーデールまではI-95というフリーウェイで1時間弱です。このI-95はいつも混んでいます。

アメリカに来るたびに綺麗な空を見上げます。

色々なミッションをこなしながら、色々と吸収し、次を見据えるウゴキをします。

I have arrived in Miami, FL transfer at Washington DC. From Miami Int. Airport to boat show place, Ft. Lauderdale takes about 1 hour drive on I-95. I-95 traffic is always crowded.

I always look at beautiful sky whenever I come to state. This time sky is also beautiful afternoon sky.

I have many missions while I stay here, but I will learn thru the mission and search for next vision.
