I attend the conference of The Boat Association of Japan, theme of “The new way of Boat Building”.

It is a popular boat building way to use the Epoxy or Urethane adhesive in the world.

But, in fact, it’s just coming this new wave in Japanese boat building.

Plexus rep, such a great adhesive manufacture, explains how it works.

A naval architect shows which part of boat building to be able to use adhesive material.

And boat association of Japan’s rep told how to approach to the status of Japan boat building regulation.

I could meet different boat building field people and had a good chat.

I’m so sure the boat building will be this way.

舟艇協会主催の「舟艇の構造接着工法」の講演会に行ってきた。

世界のボートビルダーではポピュラーなエポキシ系、ウレタン系接着剤を使ってのボート建造。

日本ではこれからの工法です。

「プレクサス」という素晴らしい接着剤の登場により、ボート建造方法が変わります。工数が減ります。FRPとアルミの接着も可能です。

FEM解析(有限要素法)による実証実験によるデータを用い、法的整備へのアプローチも協会を通じて行っているようです。

同じフィールドの方々との交流もあり、有意義な時間でした。

ボート建造方法は、このような接着工法に徐々に変わっていく事でしょう。

I drew custom stainless steel hardware and wood TV frame.

It needs to be modified for the function.

The pipe needs a hole for TV and DVD cable and we measured the size of hole.

It finished as good as picture and matches with interior perfectly.

カスタムでステンレスの金物を使ったブラケットを作成。

まずは図面で描き検討、修正の繰り返しをし、製品として出来上がりました。

テレビやDVD用のケーブルを接続する為の開口部分の大きさも計算しました。

良い仕上がりです。インテリアデザインともマッチしています。

Designing the interior of boat, almost every edges has radius.

Even it looks 90 degree edge in the picture, it has to have small radius on corner.

It’s kind of hard to measure the radius from existing corner, so I made some template of radius.

I’m just checking the radius on boat hatch.

ボートインテリアにおいて、ほとんどのエッジには丸みを持った処理がされています。

写真の中ではエッジがたった様に見えても、小さいRで処理されています。

揺れるボートにおいてその様な処理をするのは当然で、その分、手間もかかります。

コーナーやエッジの処理の方法もインテリアデザインの一部ですし、色々な工法があります。

These are custom Aluminum parts to use on furniture leg.

The pole is manufacture product and base is custom made.

The product doesn’t match with the designed pieces, so we have to arrange to make it.

什器用のカスタムアルミパーツです。

既成品を使いながらコストを考えカスタムピースを作成します。

既成品ではデザインに制限が出てしまうので、カスタムでアレンジします。

There are some type of carpet treatment that depends on the loop or cut pile.

Without treatment on edge of carpet, it’ll be loosed.

Using a tucker on the edge of carpet attached with the base floor, it won’t need the edge treatment.

If put carpet on the base floor with sound cushion, it needs edge treatment.

It’s the part of design of the interior style.

カーペットのエッジ処理方法は数種類あります。ループパイルなのか、カットパイルなのかによって処理の方法も異なります。

エッジの処理が無いと自然とほつれてしまいます。

タッカー処理がポピュラーですが、ラグの様にカーペットを敷くやり方もあります。その場合はエッジの処理が必要になりますね。

カーペットのエッジ処理一つでも、インテリアデザインの一部であり、その処理方法によってデザイン、印象が変わります。
