I went to see Le Surrealisme at the museum in Roppongi.

Design is related a lot of aspect, including art, and my personal interest in the art.

My inspiration comes from art sometime.

I saw many amazing art piece today and had been thinking about what the theme of Dali’s art piece for a while.

I will go many museums to see great art work and that stimulates and builds up sense of design.

最終日が近かった「シュルレアリスム展」を見に六本木の新国立美術館へ。

デザインとは広義であり、色々な要素・レイヤーが折り重なっています。私の個人的趣味もありますが、インスピレーションはアートからくる事も多々あります。

今回の展覧会でも沢山の素晴らしい作品を見れました。ダリの作品の前で、テーマは何だろう？とズッと考えてる行為が好きなのでしょうね。

これからも時間を見つけて色々な展覧会には行こうと思っています。国内に限らず。

私の中では、十数年前のシカゴで見た「ポロック」のアートピースの印象は未だに忘れられません。

Great talented American artist, Mr. Erik Filban, work was displayed the galley in center of Tokyo, Ginza.

I could meet him and talk about his background of his work.

The title of his work is “Mt. Fuji”. It expressed his own way to expression of mirrored Mt. Fuji. It’s very detailed and I know it took long time to finish it.

Mega Yacht interior has to have some kind of art pieces. I would like to ask him collaborate with his talent with my design in the future.

Seattle時代からの友人、アーティストのErikが国立新美術館での「春陽展」(4/13～/25)に入選したというお知らせをもらった。自分の事の様に嬉しいです。

I’ve received very happy news from my friend, Erik. I have known him since I was in Seattle. His artwork has accepted for the Shunyou-Kai art exhibition @ the national art center in Tokyo. I’m so so happy to hear this news.

At the same time, we can see his artwork for Group Exhibition @ Kinosho Fine Art in Ginza.

I’ll definitely go the exhibition and wanna feel his work from my eyes.

「船→建築(ル・コルビュジェがめざしたもの)」展を、最終日に見に行けた。

近代建築の巨匠コルビュジェが提唱した「近代建築の5原則(ピロティ・屋上庭園・自由な平面・水平に連続する窓・自由な立面(ファサード)」と「大型客船デザイン」との関連性を写真や模型で具体的に展示していました。

初めて行った美術館だか、重厚な館内で展示内容も非常に面白かった。

初めて知ったがコルビュジェの船が現存するのですね。しかもコンクリート船です。

We went to the museum in Yokohama on last day of the show.

The museum theme is ship design and Le Corbusier’s design relationship. The display was very easy to understand using the illustration, model and movie. The show was very, very interesting!!

The inside of the museum is old stylish decore of Japanese-European.

I didn’t know there is Corbusier’s boat in France. The boat is made by concrete.

来月、3月にかけ面白そうな展示会が沢山ある。

国立新美術館で開催される、「シュルレアリスム展」や、京橋のINAXギャラリーで開催される「にっぽんの客船・タイムトリップ展」がある。開催期間が長いので、時間を見つけて必ず見に行こう。

特に見に行かなければ行けないのが、横浜の日本郵船歴史博物館で開催されている「船→建築」展である。

ル・コルビュジェも客船のデザインを建築物に取り入れています。

これはすぐにでも見に行きたい！！今週は時間が調整出来ないので、来週・・かな。

There are some interesting exhibitions from March.

Exhibition called “Le Surrealisme” @ the National Art Center in Tokyo and “Japanese Passenger Ship Journey Back in Time” @ INAX gallery in Tokyo.

I really want to see is “Ship→Architecture” @ NYK Maritime Museum in Yokohama.

Sir Le Corbusier was reference the ship design in his architecture.
